God With Us

In the book of Exodus, in the mid 1400's BC, before Christ, God tells Moses to build a Tabernacle. He, God, wants to come and live among His chosen people. (The chosen people are not overly special, but serve as an example for the rest of the world, no criticism meant in anyway shape or form)

God gives Moses the specifics. Moses gathers the materials, appoints people with the skills to their specific jobs. The Tabernacle is built, and God is happy! He now resides with His people. The Tabernacle gets destroyed; do to the sins of His chosen people.

In the book of 1st Kings, a few years later, about 970 BC. Moving forward to the days of King Solomon, he built the temple during his reign as king starting 970 BC. So around, give or take, 400 years later, God once again has a house to call His own, to live among His chosen people. The Temple gets destroyed; do to the sins of His chosen people.

In the book of Matthew, let's move forward once again. The birth of Christ. God in the flesh, around, give or take, 1000 years after the construction of the Temple Solomon built for God. God now resides with His chosen people, in the flesh. Christ gets destroyed; do to the sins of His chosen people.

So we think...

God has a plan. A plan to be united with His chosen people. That plan includes you, me, and everyone else. It started with the Israelites, and will be fulfilled through us and our willing hearts. The hearts that are open to let Christ reside within us, so that He can live among His chosen people, through us. You see, God loves us so very much; He is using Christ, which He brought back to life, to give us life, despite our sin.

Grace my friends.

Mercy my brothers and sisters.

Forgiveness for everyone.
