For those who do not know, I am going to college to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies. My reason is that this is the direction that God wishes me to go. I have come to this decision based off His encouragement. How do I know that I've made the right decision you ask? I know I made the right decision based of how well I'm doing in my classes and the people that I've met.
If you would have known me back in my college days out of high school, you would have never thought I had it in me. The reality is, it is not me, but Christ.
Having said that:
I believe in Christ because of everything that He has seen me through. The death of my father, keeping me from suicide, three failed marriages, a life time of depression, financial troubles, job troubles, friend trouble, I could go on and on. I know that it has been Christ that has seen me through all these things, because He made His presence very obvious. It is more obvious now that I look back through the history of my life, than at the time of the events. I can say without a doubt, that my lowest point, contemplating suicide, He spoke directly to me. With words that went directly through my ears straight into my heart.
My credit is very bad and I should not have been able to get a college loan to attend college, but here I am. My entry into Indiana Wesleyan University went smooth as silk and there's only one reason, because He wanted it that way.
I ask myself continuously, why me and I do not have an answer. All I do know is that He has a plan for me and I want to be prepared to work His plan to the best of my ability. You know what, He has a plan for you as well.
Hence the writing of this note.
Share your story with me. Why do you believe in Christ.
Let me take this a step further, share your story with me even if you do not believe in Jesus Christ.
I am not posting this to argue. Arguing is counter productive. Discussion on the other hand is what is so very important.
I am reading a book by Leonard Sweet called 11 indispensable relationships you can't be without.
Let's see what kind of relationships we can build in this place called facebook!
I look forward to talking with you!
Jim
