The Word

While looking for articles about seeking the face of the Lord, I was brought to a sight that based much of

their beliefs from man made doctrine. Through the entire article there are 10 references to man made

doctrine compared to 5 Scripture references. It is so important for us to base our beliefs off of the

Living Word and not that of man. The article read well, but it is still based off mostly the thoughts of

man, not God.

Everything we hear, read, think about doing, needs to be put to the test of God's Word.

Paul in his letter to the Thessalonian church said this:

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 (NIV)

21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

1 Peter 5:7-9 (NIV)

7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone

to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the

world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and

as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

These three pieces of Scripture gives us some great advise, and I would go a step further as to say it is

telling us to do something.

Test everything, be self-controlled, let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.
